Spring ISD is proud to announce the opening of our virtual school in August 2008. Our district’s vision is to become a leader among learning organizations and recognized for exemplary student achievement by the year 2015.
The Virtual School is an online community of learners where passionate educates ensure learning by creating meaningful relationships while utilizing technology to engage students in quality instruction that is rigorous and relevant.
As a school of choice, students may choose to take up to 4 courses with special permission from their home campus counselor. It is recommended students only enroll in 2 virtual courses at a time. Students may take courses during their seven period day and enroll in an 8th course as tuition based course. Students will work independently and collaboratively with teachers, peers, and online experts.
Benefits of Online Learning
Students will:
Have more options in meeting the course requirements.
Have the ability to obtain more college credit courses during high school.
Have flexibility to schedule courses thus resolving conflicts.
Be able to work in their own time frame to complete coursework.
Could take an extra course beyond their normal school day which would allow for early graduation.
Admissions Requirements
Students must:
Have approval of home campus counselor or principal’s designee.
Be independent self-motivated learners.
Have access to a computer with Internet access.
Meet attendance requirement of 4 hours per day on home campus for full ADA funding.
Courses are available to students as part of the regular 7 period day. An 8th class (as an addition to the regular course load) would be available to students at a cost of 150.00 per semester. We are here to serve you. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.
